Dr. Rob Turk

Dr. Rob Turk, M.D., M.B.A. is an orthopaedic surgery resident at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, and an incoming orthopaedic spine surgery fellow at the Texas Back Institute. A graduate of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine’s PRIME-Health Equity program and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, Dr. Turk is passionate about bridging clinical innovation, health equity, and business strategy to transform musculoskeletal care.

As Chief Medical Advisor at MyBackHub, Dr. Turk provides expertise in emerging technologies that empower patients to manage back pain virtually. His leadership extends beyond the clinic—he has founded and advised health technology ventures aimed at improving access to care and promoting sustainable lifestyle change.

Dr. Turk’s research has been featured in leading orthopaedic journals, including The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and The American Journal of Sports Medicine, with a focus on spine biomechanics, pain management, and value-based care. He is a multi-time national research award recipient, recognized by the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, Lumbar Spine Research Society, and Eastern Orthopaedic Association.

Dedicated to advancing nonoperative spine health, Dr. Turk combines evidence-based medicine, virtual innovation, and community engagement to help patients recover movement and confidence without surgery.
